The electronic cigarette – Is it less harmful than the regular cigarette?

The electronic cigarette is growing in popularity by the day. Thus we can expect to see frequent periodic improvements to the product in the foreseeable future. There is not much convicting information out there regarding this product, given its relative newness, so no one is really in a position to condemn or over-praise the electronic cigarette just yet. Results from tests, and lack of tests, have resulting in many of the world’s respective bodies frowning on the electronic cigarette, including the WHO and the FDA. At our current level of knowledge though, if we can ignore all outside factors, we can come to the conclusion that the electronic cigarette is an able alternative to the regular cigarette. But is it a less harmful alternative?

The electronic cigarette imitates/simulates the smoking experience so well that switching to it from a regular cigarette just feels like switching regular cigarette brands. While the experience is similar, the respective health benefits differ greatly. A few examples of this point follow. Tobacco is a substance famously prevalent in the regular cigarette. The accompanying tobacco smoke and nicotine content when combined can cause many harmful diseases (such as throat and lung cancer) which can often lead to death. No tobacco can be found in the electronic cigarette, a fact which obviously reduces total health risk considerably. In turn, it emits no tobacco smoke, so those dangers are also avoided.

The exclusion of tobacco and tobacco smoke from the electronic cigarette also means that there will be no second-hand smoke and therefore none of its dangers. Second-hand smoke is actually proven to be more dangerous to those exposed to it than first-hand smoke itself. The reason for this is that the particles in second-hand smoke are considerably smaller and so create more damage as they have the ability to reach deeper in the lungs. The electronic cigarette substitutes a vapor for the smoke, which does not emit an offensive smell and is not proven to be particularly harmful. Nicotine is available in most brands of e cigarettes, however, the user has the option of lowering the amount of nicotine consumed, thus facilitating an attempt to quit smoking.

There are no guarantees as yet but the electronic cigarette just may be the real deal. We will be sure to keep our readers up to date as to the new developments in this very promising alternative to smoking.

One Response to “The electronic cigarette – Is it less harmful than the regular cigarette?”

  • Yes electronic cigarettes are less harmful then real cigarettes because Electronic cigarettes deliver measured doses of pure nicotine, whereas real cigarettes deliver a mixture of nicotine and several dozen harmful compounds in the form of coal tars, smoke particles, and carbon monoxide. And In fact, there are more than 4000 ingredients in a typical tobacco cigarette. 400 of these are proven to be health hazards. So, it stands to reason that eliminating the practice of ingesting tar, carbon monoxide, and other proven health hazards from is way less harmful than smoking.
When I heard that, I stop smoking tobacco cigarettes and start using electronic cigarettes. I am using Jasper and jasper Electronic Cigarette; I find that brand when I go for online order. So far I haven’t find any problem in it but if anyone have any other better brand then please let me know about it.
