A bit of history on Blu
Blu cigs were among the first electronic cigarettes in the United States. They are often praised as being one of the major brands to spread the word about ecigs when they were first introduced a few years ago. This being said, Blu’s reputation started to slip as newer companies such as Green Smoke came on the market offering superior products at better prices. At one point Blu were getting many more complaints than positive reviews but we have definitely noticed their effort to clean things up.
The New Blu
One of the major things Blu has done recently is to switch to the new two-part design (they were far behind their competitors in making this instrumental change). Keeping abreast with the latest technology, the atomizers are built into the flavor cartridge, unlike in the past where they came as a separate unit. The new atomizers, now called cartomizers, are compatible with the batteries and chargers of the previous models, which was a plus for their current customers.
Upon receiving our kit, we quickly opened the tobacco pack, screwed the cartridge/atomizer to the battery and took in some puffs. The cigarette lit up giving out an alien blue light, the vapors we puffed away although subdued compared to conventional cigarettes – were quite satisfactory.
The actual cigarette is very small, light and elegant to look at with the polished exterior and unique blue LED tip. Classic Tobacco
The Classic Tobacco flavor is intoxicatingly natural, and makes one realize that this electronic cig is indeed the real deal.
Valley of Cherries
Taking a puff of the Cherry Crush flavor gives you feeling that you’re in a valley full of cherries which is lit up at the one end with a giant lighter while he strolls through it.
Coffee Day
The Java Jolt flavor is perfect, especially for the morning when its rich coffee flavor suppresses any urge for having your morning coffee. It is a wonderful feeling.
Menthol – Go Cool
The Magnificent Menthol flavor, gives one the confidence that menthol is supposed to induce, especially in crowded places where cigarette smokers otherwise have to chew a fresh mint gum to be ‘accepted’.
Cost of Happiness
While the Blu Cigs starter kit costs $69.95, the cost to maintain your pack-a-day smoking habit will be $770.75 / year or $ 4.82 / month or $2.11 a day. We arrived at this conclusion after changing our atomizers after every 5 flavor cartridges. This starter kit is on the lower end of the cost spectrum, and we can conclude that Blu Cigs is decent value for money.
